Fundraising, and Schedule for 2025 season 1/2/25 Hello all, Welcome to the Pre-Season, I hope the break has gone well for everyone! I am looking forward to a strong start to 2025. I have gotten most of the meet schedule figured out and into TeamSnap. I will be working to get a picture date and will be setting up the spirit pack soon. I am very excited for the challenges to come and for the excitement every new season brings. TeamSnap: • We use TeamSnap for communication and scheduling. The best way to get added is to email the athletes name, email and phone number and any parent name, email and phone number. I can add you easily from my side but trying to add at the school can be difficult with the connection issues. Once added you will receive an email and you will most likely need to get the app if you want to use your phone. You can access the TeamSnap webpage on a computer. • Dates I am aware of already are entered so if you want to mark the athletes availability we can have that for our information on availability at meets and practice. I will speak more on this at the Mandatory Scrimmage and Parent meeting on Saturday March 1st at 9am. Fundraising: • Peaches –The amount raised for the Track and Field program was just over $4,000.00!!!!! • Football Concession stand – this was the first year and it proved to be a worthy addition. The amount raised for the Track and Field program was $1,910.00! • We will host the JV Championships as well as the Middle School District Meet and these will raise money for us as well. • We will add an in-season fundraiser for those who have not filled their obligation for fundraising. Pre-Season training: • We will start the pre-season on Tuesday Jan. 7 th at 4:30pm. We will hold practices Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at 4:30 through Feb. 7th . All events will practice on those days and at that time. We will split into groups after the warm-up depending on what coaches are available. This is the transition into Track and Field season and we will be focusing on those specific events and needs. We will be focusing on several areas to get ready for the season including strength, functional movement, conditioning, pre-hab, and we will be adding a mental component for those who are interested (more info below). While attendance is still voluntary it will make a huge difference for the season if attended. Indoor Meet Opportunities: • Some of the athletes are participating with Fort Collins Club Track and will have this information already. For the rest of the team Colorado School of Mines has an Indoor Track and Field Meet Series. The events are a little different each meet and entry fee is $30 / person if entry is through Direct Athletics, $40 / person for day of registration. The dates are below(I will attach the flier to this letter): o Meet #2 is Saturday Jan. 4th and entries close tomorrow on Direct Athletics o Meet #3 is Saturday Jan. 11th o Meet #4 is Thursday Jan. 16th o Meet #5 is Thursday Jan. 23rd o Meet #6 is Thursday Jan. 30th I will be attending Meet #2, Meet #3, Meet #5 and Meet #6 for at least part of the time. If you are looking for coaching. I will send a message on TeamSnap if my plans have to change. Mental Component for 2025 season: • I will be giving a book study on Confidence starting January 13th, this is not mandatory, but I will want at least 10 participants to facilitate it. I will be using the book “The Confident Athlete” by Tami Matheny. I will not be purchasing the book for the participants, they will need to get it on their own. You can find several used copies online. If you want to participate but cannot get a book, contact me and we can see what we can work out. I truly feel this is such a huge part of growth especially at this age level so please consider taking part. If you are interested contact me so I know how many we have interested in participating. I will also be announcing it at practices next week. We will do a little discussion after practice on the 13th to get started. • I will also be having a variety of evening classes throughout the season on different things. Some examples are College Sports and Recruitment, Nutrition, Visualization, etc. Some classes I will be giving and if I have other coaches or presenters available, I will add them as well. Once I have dates, they will be put into TeamSnap.
